We have decided as a first grade team to not continue Storytown this week. We have lots to review and with Dibels testing going on we figured it would be hard to squeeze everything in. We will STILL be reading this week, but we will be doing a lot of brushing up on previously learned skills. We will also be writing our FINAL drafts of our Thanksgiving stories. I have to tell you that I was impressed with the first graders’ patience as this will be their THIRD copy of their story, but I am hoping to have great results. I can’t wait to read their stories, they have worked so hard!
I am also going to try and get pictures up soon from our Science on Friday. The kids had a blast doing their FIRST science investigation. They went through all the steps of asking a question, making a prediction, listing materials, collecting data and writing a conclusion. They did a great job of following directions and discussing their results!
For those of you who volunteered to bring items for Madison Mart: I will be sending home specific items needed (hopefully) tomorrow. So far I have no volunteers to come help on Monday morning, so if you can I would GREATLY appreciate it
Book its for November reading logs will be coming home Monday. And as I was filling them out this weekend I realized that I don’t think I sent home December reading logs. I will be sure to get those in folders tomorrow. There will be no homework this week so I encourage you to have your child make up for that with lots of reading! Also, keep in mind in order for you child to participate in the Price Chopper party in April they must have recorded at least 600 minutes on reading logs by spring break.
Last bit of news… we are still trying to win a walking trail for our school! Please help out by
